Join us for a truly cultural adventure into the the strange world of mysterious Toraja People and their beautiful mountainous home, the Toraja highland, one of the best cultural destination of travel in Indonesia.
The trip starts from Makassar, the capital of South Sulawesi Province, accessible by flights from other major cities in Indonesia and then proceed by a long drive through spectacular mountain, steep terraced slopes and tall bamboo forests to arrive in Toraja highland, the "Land of the Heavenly Kings". We will walk across the natural beauties of Toraja highland to experience unique culture of Toraja people which is based on animistic beliefs. Known for their grand burial ceremonies on cliffs or hanging graves, they practice an ancestral cult even today where death and afterlife ceremonies are great feasts when buffaloes are sacrificed in the final death ceremony, after which the deceased's remains are placed in a coffin and interred in caves hollowed out in high cliffs.
We will visit the cliff-side stone grave with wooden effigies on the balcony at Lemo, the royal family tombs at Suaya, the baby grave in the huge tree at Kambira, traditional dance performance at Sangalla, the natural cave at Londa and the traditional wooden carving village at Kete Kesu.
You'll also be struck by the unusual architecture of the traditional Toraja house Tongkonan at Palawa. We will also make trekking from Pana through the rice-field and some village down to Tikala to enjoy the beuties scenery of the highland. Another style of adventure in Indonesia.

DAY 01: MAKASSAR ? TORAJA LAND
Upon arrival at Makassar Airport, take an exotic long drive to Toraja highland. Accommodation at hotel in Rantepao (L, D).
DAY 02: TORAJA LAND
Full day excursion in Toraja Land visiting cliff-side stone graves, royal family tombs, baby grave in the huge trees, natural cave and traditional wooden carving village. Overnight the hotel in Rantepao (B, L, D).
DAY 03: TORAJA LAND
Full day trip in Toraja highland: the most beautiful traditional Toraja village, cotton weaving village, ancient megalithic stone and enjoying a stunning view of large rice-field terrace, boulder graves, and walking through the rice-field and some villages. Overnight the hotel in Rantepao (B, L, D).
DAY 04: TORAJA FREE PROGRAM
Free program to explore Toraja highland on your own. Overnight the hotel in Rantepao (B, L, D).
DAY 05: TORAJA LAND ? MAKASSAR AIRPORT ? OUT
Morning drive back to Makassar airport for flight to your next destination (B,L).

DAY 04: TORAJA LAND ? SENGKANG
Drive to Sengkang to have a boat trip on the lake TEMPE to visit the floating-houses, the way of life of those who live at the lakeside. Overnight at a standard hotel in Sengkang (B, L, D).
DAY 05: SENGKANG ? BIRA
In the morning leave Sengkang for Bira to enjoy beautiful white sandy beach or you can arrange yourselves for diving and snorkeling trips to the islands nearby. Overnight at a beach hotel in Bira (B, L, D).
DAY 06: BIRA ? MAKASSAR
After breakfast at hotel, we drive back to Makassar with stop en route for lunch and stop at Tana Beru the undisputed capital of south-coast ?Bugis Phinisi' is made in traditional way. Afternoon arrive in Makassar. Check-in to Losari Beach 3 star hotel for your accommodation. Evening free program with dinner on personal expenses (B, L).
DAY 07: MAKASSAR DEPARTURE
After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport for flight to your next destination (B).
DAY 01: MAKASSAR ? TORAJA LAND

DAY 02: TORAJA TERKKING
Trekking the natural life of Toraja People visiting the rock grave in Deri, rice paddy fields, Lempo village, the ancient stones graves in Pana Village and the beautiful scenery at Batutumonga village. Overnight at Batutumonga Village (B,L,D).
DAY 03: TORAJA TREKKING
Proceed trekking the highland passing the plantation, Lokomata & Panggala villages. Overnight at Panggala Village (B,L,D).
DAY 04: TORAJA TREKKING (PANGGALA - AWAN)
Continue trekking to Awan, a village surrounded by mountain. Overnight at a simple guest house (B,L,D).
DAY 05: AWAN - LOLAI - BY CAR TO RANTEPAO - TORAJA TOUR
Walking down the mountain to Lolai village and drive back to Rantepao. Afterlunch visit the stone graves in Londa, the Traditional village of Ketekesu and the local market. Overnight at the hotel in Rantepao (B,L,D).
DAY 06: TORAJA LAND ? MAKASSAR AIRPORT ? OUT
Morning drive back to Makassar airport for flight to your next destination (B,L).
RIVER RAFTING

DAY 04: TORAJA LAND TREKKING
Driving and trekking to get between villages, mountainous area, rice paddies and traditional houses. Overnight will be spent in thatch-roofed bamboo huts called pondoks, in a traditional village (B, L, D).
DAY 05: MAULU RIVER RAFTING - PAREPARE
After breakfast, trekking for about 30 minutes to Maulu River down into the canyon walls, lush scenery, the raging to start a class IV white water , appropriate for beginners yet exciting for veterans, awaits us. Scenery includes polished stone Cliffside, hanging vines and terraced rice fields. The journey is 5 hours long until we take out at Rembon. Then drive to Pare Pare for accommodation at a standard hotel (B, L, D).
DAY 06: PARE PARE - MAKASSAR AIRPORT
Breakfast at hotel. Drive back to Makassar Airport for flight to your next destination (B).
