Travel to Indonesia is not complete if you didn't visit Borneo. As the world's third largest island, Borneo (Kalimantan) has rich tribal cultures and an extraordinarily diverse range of flora and fauna ? especially the orangutans (pongo pygmaeus) one of the human closest living relatives in Animals Kingdom, besides the Chimpanzee and Gorilla in Africa.
In this unique and ?romantic? trip adventure in Indonesia, we take you for fascinating days visiting the orangutan research and rehabilitation centers: Camp Leakey, Tanjung harapan and Pondok Tanguy in the Tanjung Puting National Park at Central Borneo Province. We will use ?klotok?, a traditional fisherman boat which have been modified to carry tourists and explore the quite Sekonyer river to visit the centers while experience the magical atmosphere of the tropical rain forest.
Natural tannins darken the pure river water and provide beautiful reflections. We will walk around the centers to meet the orangutans, the proboscis monkeys, gibbons and other endemic fauna and exotic flora of Borneo. You can either spend the nights on the boat surrounded only by the magical jungle sounds or in the comfortable lodge or a combination of the two.
This trip is suitable for children, family, honeymooners, photographers and those the nature lovers. On the trips to visit the dayak tribes in this province, we take a boat cruise along the Lamandu River to observe the way of life of the Central Kalimantan's Dayak Tribesman and enjoy the stunning views of nature with rich of flora and fauna along the river bank. Dayak Tribesmen who well known as ?head hunters' and the ?cannibal' from in the past, now they are leaving peaceful in the communal ?Long Houses' of the village.
Upon arrival at Pangkalan Bun, transfer to the boat at Kumai and then boating into the river to Tanjung Puting National Park. Visit the orangutans. Overnight on boat.
DAY 02: TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK TOUR We explore the calm river to Pondok Tanguy and Camp Leakey. Trekking the surroundings to see the orangutans. Back to the boat for overnight.
DAY 03: TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK - KUMAI - PANGKALAN BUN AIRPORT
Morning boating back to Kumai and onto the airport by car, for flight to your next destination (B).
Upon arrival at Pangkalan Bun, transfer to the boat at Kumai and then boating into the river to Tanjung Puting National Park. Visit the orangutans. Overnight on boat.
DAY 02: TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK TOUR
We explore the calm river to Pondok Tanguy and Camp Leakey. Trekking the surroundings to see the orangutans. Back to the boat for overnight.

We explore the calm river to have more experiences at Pondok Tanguy and Camp Leakey. Trekking the surroundings to see the orangutans. Back to the boat for overnight.
DAY 04: TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK - KUMAI - PANGKALAN BUN AIRPORT
Morning boating back to Kumai and onto the airport by car, for flight to your next destination (B).

DAY 01: PANGKALAN BUN ARRIVAL - KUMAI - TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK
Upon arrival at Pangkalan Bun, transfer to the boat at Kumai and then boating into the river to Tanjung Puting National Park. Visit the orangutans. Overnight on boat.
DAY 02: TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK TOUR
We explore the calm river to Pondok Tanguy and Camp Leakey. Trekking the surroundings to see the orangutans. Back to the boat for overnight.
DAY 03: TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK - KUMAI - PANGKALAN BUN
Half day explore the national park and boat and trekking to see more of the wildlife. Afternoon boating back to Kumai and proceed by car to the town of Pangkalan Bun. Dinner and overnight at a hotel (B,L,D).
DAY 04: PANGKALAN BUN ? KOTAWARINGIN ? DAYAK TAPINBINI VILLAGE
On local speedboat on Arut River we boating to the north to the home of Dayak tribes. En route stop at Koawaringin for lunch and sightseeing. Arrive Tapibini, sight seeing around the village to and make an easy climbing to their traditional/slash and burn plantations nearby the village. After dinner at the villagers simple house, they will welcome you with a traditional ceremony and dance called Bagondang or hornbill dance. Overnight at the simple house (B,L,D).
DAY 05: TAPINBINI - KINIPAN
Proceed by by motorized long boat up the stream to Kinipan Village. Explore the surrounding "untouristic" villages, ancient graves, some slash and burn plantations and some rapids along the hilly riverside. Overnight at a villager house long house with very basic facilities. Enjoy the welcome dance and ceremony (B,L,D).
DAY 6: KINIPAN - NOMADIC DAYAK REGION
Proceed trekking to the nomadic Dayak Tumon who live in small groups practising ancient slash and burn farming techniques as well as hunting and gathering in the forest. Explore the area and join their way of live. Overnight in a shelter and dinner over the campfire (B,L,D).
DAY 07: EXPLORING THE SURROUNDING
Full day explore the area and join their way of live. Overnight in a shelter and dinner over the campfire (B,L,D).
DAY 08: DAYAK NOMADIC REGION ? KINIPAN ? TAPINBINI
After breakfast under the morning dew return to Kinipan and continue by the boat back to Tapinbini. Overnight at the villager's house with basic facilities. Meals will be provided by your own cook (B, L, D).
DAY 09: TAPINBINI - PANGKALAN BUN
Proceed the journey down stream to Pangkalan Bun town. Dinner and overnight at the hotel (B,L,D).
DAY 10: PANGKALAN BUN DEPARTURE
Transfer to Pangkalan Bun airport for flight to your next destinations (B).
